Chemical Reactions And Equations Class 10th

Chemical Reactions And Equations Class 10th.

A Chemical reaction is a process which transforms one or more substances into new substances.

Characteristics of Chemical Reactions are:

·       Change in State.

·       Change in Colour.

·       Evolution of a Gas.

·       Change in Temperature.

Chemical Equation: A chemical equation is a statement used in chemistry to represent a chemical reaction.

A Chemical Equation can be classified into 2 types:

·       Balanced chemical equation.

·       Unbalanced chemical equation

Balanced chemical equation: a chemical equation in which has an equal number of atoms of each element in the reactants and products is called a balanced equation.

For Example: Zn + H2SO4  :  ZnSO4 + H2

Unbalanced chemical equation: a chemical equation in which has an unequal number of atoms of each element in the reactants and products is called a balanced equation.

For Example: Fe + H2O  :  Fe3O4 + H2  .
