India

 India is a country located in South Asia, bordered by Pakistan to the northwest, China and Nepal to the north, Bhutan to the northeast, Bangladesh and Myanmar to the east, and the Indian Ocean to the south. India is the seventh-largest country in the world by land area and the second-most populous country, with a population of over 1.3 billion people.

India has a diverse and rich cultural heritage that dates back thousands of years. The country has been inhabited since prehistoric times, and its history is marked by the rise and fall of many powerful empires and kingdoms, including the Maurya, Gupta, and Mughal empires.

India is a federal parliamentary democratic republic with a president as its head of state and a prime minister as its head of government. The country is divided into 28 states and eight Union territories, each with its own government.

India's economy is the world's sixth-largest by nominal GDP and the third-largest by purchasing power parity. The country is a major exporter of information technology services, pharmaceuticals, textiles, and other goods. Hindi and English are the official languages of India, but the country has a rich linguistic diversity with more than 22 recognized languages and over 1,000 dialects spoken. Hinduism is the dominant religion in India, followed by Islam, Christianity, Sikhism, Buddhism, and Jainism.

India is home to several famous landmarks, including the Taj Mahal, the ancient city of Varanasi, and the Red Fort in Delhi. The country also has a rich tradition of art, music, and literature, with famous poets and writers such as Rabindranath Tagore, Vikram Seth, and Arundhati Roy.
