2 Pilots Missing After Army's Cheetah Helicopter Crashes In Arunachal
The force has mounted a search operation for the two missing crew men – a lieutenant colonel and a major.
The Army said: “Army Aviation Cheetah helicopter flying an operational sortie near Bomdila, Arunachal Pradesh was reported to have lost contact with the ATC at around 09:15 AM on 16 March 23.”
t added: “It is reported to have crashed near Mandala, West of Bomdila. Search parties have been launched.”
The Arunachal Police later said that the chopper lost contact midway while en route to Missamari from Senge village. Around 12.30 pm, villagers from Bangjalep in Dirang spotted the wreckage.
The chopper might have crashed near Manadala, west of Bomdila in Arunachal Pradesh, according to the Army spokesperson.
The pilot and co-pilot on board are missing. A search operation has been launched.
